In this Digital Photography class, I overall grew as a photographer. On the first day of this class, when Mr. O’Donnell told us to take pictures, they turned out horrible and everything was a mess. Throughout the first couple of weeks, we took notes and focused on camera parts, functions, elements of a photograph, shutter speed, and aperture. I was a little confused at first about shutter speed and aperture, but I eventually practiced and visually saw an improvement in my photos. There are many different elements and compositions that can add in your pictures to give a unique look. Some of these elements are the rule of thirds, texture, pattern, depth of field, symmetry, lines, framing, perspective, space, balance, and color. Some of these elements were a little hard to incorporate in the pictures but ultimately made them turn out really cool. Then after the composition assignment, we were introduced to Photoshop. Opening photoshop was a little intimidating cause there are so many buttons. Using Photoshop was kind of tricky at first but eventually got easier, after getting the hang of it. We used different tools like the lasso, layer masking, history brush, clone stamp, image sizing, painting, changing the background, cutting out images, importing, exporting, and many other things. I really enjoyed this course and hope to enroll in classes like this in the future. I have learned so many useful things and tools to better create a cool look for my pictures. Here are some of my worst pictures: Here are my best: IN THIS ASSIGNMENT WE NEEDED TO USE CREATIVITY TO CREATE VISUAL PUNS I LEARNED ABOUT CUTTING IMAGES OUT, PRECISION, IMAGE SIZING, AND LAYERS AND STACKING THEM
For this assignment I used photoshop to make a picture and to incorporate pictures to enhance the definition of any word we chose. I LEARNED MORE ABOUT LAYERS, TEXT, IMAGE SIZING
This was our last photo assignment. I took pictures of my brother flipping on our trampoline. I used shutter speed priority settings to make these work. ISO:1600 AP:f/5.6 SS:1/2500 In this assignment I learned more about how shutter speed affects ur aperture because of the amount of light coming through.
For this assignment we took two pictures. The first portrait was in a light studio, then the next one was in a non-studio portrait. This assignment I learned more about how to make portraits looks better with camera settings. Also, I learned about ways to frame pictures in photoshop.
For this assignment I used my cameras b&w setting to create cool pictures of leaves from a tree. ISO: 400 Aperture: 4.0 Shutter Speed: 1/800 I learned more about different camera settings like the b&w filter.
for this assignment we were provided a list full of different photoshop tutorials to use to be creative with pictures. In this assignment I learned more about photoshop and the different features it offers. I learned more about paths, channels, layers, masking, blurring, etc.
For this assignment I took photos at a dance recital. I really tried implementing shutter priority settings to capture a "in action" photo. In this assignment I learned more about lighting and shutter speed priorities.
